That was great. Didn't think it was possible to do that. Not just hit a stalk but which way do you want it to fall! :bear_w00t:

Looks like it would hurt real bad to get hit with one of those
Dog Wood and Gum Rubber, huh? |
Re: Wanna Go Up Against This Guy?
Quite amazing considering each projectile is different....
Imagine if he had ball bearings to shoot... |

Re: Wanna Go Up Against This Guy?
Wow this hits kinda close to home...and that old guy is amazing!
The only other time I have seen anything like this was from my high school friends step-father. He as some kind of S.F. in VietNam, he wouldnt talk about it at all, but one time when my firend and I were shooting our BB guns in the back 40 he came out to check on us. After watching us and giving us some tips and coaching he took my friends Dasiey red rider...taped up the sights and then put a show on for us...reflex shooting....pop cans...quarters,dimes. Anything we would throw up in the air he could hit 100% of the time from the hip...did it like breathing...I think thats when I first saw/understood what Zen looks like. I would never have believed it without seeing it with my own eyes. Needless to say after he left us...we were trying that till it was too dark to shoot...one of my fondest teenage memories ever. My friend and I after that point spent huge amounts of time over the next several years shooting together...many times we'd forgo the beer partys so we would be clear headed to spend the next day shooting...from sun up till sundown... bb guns...pellet rifles....22's...anything we could get our hands on. Seeing something like that motivates one to really work on the basics and master them lock stock and barrel...good stuff! Thank you for sharing that link. |

Re: Wanna Go Up Against This Guy?
Might be a good thing to look into and get some pratice with.
With some of the modern materials and/or slingshots available it's cheap and you have an almost endless supply of ammo. Wouldnt replace a firearm but much like a bow in the right hands damn effective for many situations that need something quiet and compact. As he demonstrates it's nothing to sneeze at... |

Re: Wanna Go Up Against This Guy?
Amazing skill... makes we want to go practice with the crappy slingshot I have!
I'm not any good, but I have found that for me, using rocks similar in size and shape to the ones he was using seem to be easier to shoot with than the large ball bearing ammo that I purchased with the slingshot. Quiet, deadly (to an extent), and a more or less endless supply of free ammunition... I'm thinking a slingshot, and the skill to use it, may have to be considered a mandatory part of one's arsenal... |
